CHARITY SPOTLIGHT

If you're a member of the chimney and venting industry, you've likely heard of two charitable organizations: Warrior Horse and Sweep Away Cancer. Both organizations were founded by our industry's very own.

At the Backyard Bash Wednesday evening, we want to give both of these amazing organizations some spotlight. We will be having a 50/50 raffle and some other neat items up for grabs, and all proceeds will go directly to both Warrior Horse and Sweep Away Cancer. We will also have tables set up for each organization so you can chat and learn more about the incredible work they do!

Keep on reading to get a little backstory on each organization, and make sure to come check them out at the Conference!

Warrior Horse transforms the lives of military veterans, one horse at a time. The Warrior Horse program uses a personalized and interactive equine-assisted method, which they call the “Bonding Process” to assist military veterans who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to begin their recovery from this debilitating disorder.

Their program is open to current and former members of the armed forces of the United States who have been diagnosed with PTSD and have had some “let down” period after a tour of active duty. The program is provided at no financial cost to the veterans.

SWEEP AWAY CANCER

Sweep Away Cancer is a non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds for individuals affected by all types of cancer by asking those within the chimney sweeping industry to get involved. They provide aid for those fighting cancer by helping with financial stressors associated with this life changing disease.

Sweep Away Cancer is able to disseminate funds to multiple individuals affected by this life changing disease. And it all started with a desire to give back and make a difference in the lives of women.

Over the years they have provided aid to those in need by helping with assistance with hospital or medical expenses, mortgage/rent payment, groceries and prescriptions.
